Senior Affordable Housing Community in St. Petersburg Approved for Funding
The Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners approved $3.75 million in funding for Burlington Post 2, a new affordable housing community for seniors in St. Petersburg. The commissioners approved $3.75 million, $3,541,977 will be allocated from Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA2) funds and the remaining $208,023 from Housing Trust Funds. The total development cost is $28.4 million. The other financing will from American Rescue Plan act, Housing Finance Authority 4.0% tax credit equity, American Rescue Plan Act and Community Redevelopment Area, City of St. Petersburg ERA2, Florida Housing Finance Corporation, and a deferred developer fee. The community will provide 75 residential units. Burlington Post 2 will be constructed on the same parcel, and will share a courtyard with Burlington Post, an 86-unit affordable apartment community which opened in 2018. Plans also show a parking garage will be constructed on the site. Construction is expected to begin in October 2023.
