Suffolk Hires Brett Earnest as Executive Vice President, National Centers of Excellence, to Accelerate Company Expansion Into Strategic Construction Sectors With High Growth Potential

Suffolk, one of the largest and most innovative real estate and construction enterprises in the country, is announcing the addition of industry veteran Brett Earnest as Executive Vice President, National Centers of Excellence (COE). This strategic addition to Suffolk’s leadership team will help enable Suffolk to accelerate growth of high-potential National COE sectors: Aviation and Transportation, Mission Critical, Federal and Gaming. Mr. Earnest will oversee and create alignment for COEs nationally, providing leadership that combined with Suffolk’s unique approach and innovative tools will serve our commitment to adding value across the lifecycle of a project and help ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.

“To maintain momentum and meet our ambitious growth plans, it is imperative to ensure consistency, protect alignment, and boost the core leadership across our already high performing Centers of Excellence,” said John Fish, Chairman and CEO of Suffolk. “Brett will work closely with our leaders of Aviation and Transportation, Mission Critical, Federal and Gaming to elevate our national COE sectors and Suffolk as a whole.”

In this new role, Mr. Earnest will be responsible for strategically growing Suffolk’s project pipeline nationally across all COEs while working closely with the regional presidents to ensure successful operations of all COE work.

“Suffolk’s utilization of data and innovative solutions is a differentiator in an industry known for archaic practices and processes,” said Mr. Earnest. “The ability to work within the same confines, but think differently, is exciting to me as I work to maintain and grow a strong and diverse business, working with impressive leaders across sectors, and ultimately delivering on our promise to our clients.”

Mr. Earnest joins Suffolk team with more than 20 years of impressive industry experience, most recently as Division President of the Pacific Northwest at Clark Construction, leading a team of more than 125 and more than 1,000 trade partners. He was entrusted to build a Seattle presence for the company and in his eight years of leadership the office was awarded $3.7 billion in work. Notable projects throughout his career include the SeaTac International Arrivals Facility ($780 million) in Seattle, the Washington State Convention Center Addition ($1.4 billion) in Seattle, and the LAC+USC Medical Center ($600 million) in Los Angeles. Mr. Earnest graduated from Bucknell University, where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration and Management and a B.A. in Economics.

Suffolk is in a period of incredible growth across COEs, with a diverse portfolio of work including Terminal E at Boston Logan International Airport, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport’s electric Central Utility Plant, Encore Boston Harbor, South Station Tower in Boston and Seminole Casino Brighton.
