Superstructure Rises at 2-33 50th Avenue

Brett Steinberg of masonry supplier, Kings Contracting Group NY, has shared updated photos of the rising superstructure at 2-33 50th Avenue; a 12-story, multifamily, mixed-use project, going up in Long Island City, Queens.

General contractor, , concrete subcontractor, RNC Industries, and Kings Contracting, have now formed up to the 10th floor, with only 2 left to go. The team is using a block and plank construction method, pouring concrete slabs for the floors and utilizing CMU blocks (reinforced with grout and steel rebar) for the walls.

Jointly developed by The VOREA GroupL+M Development Partners, and The Domain Companies, the building will be known as "Jasper Hunters Point". Designed by S9 Architecture, the structure will stand feet tall and total square feet. It will contain rental apartments.

Tenant amenities are to include a fitness center, a swimming pool, and several roof terraces. In addition to residential space, the structure will offer  square feet of ground-floor retail, 503 square feet of community facility space, and an enclosed parking garage, with enough room for vehicles. The building will also feature roof-mounted solar panels, which will help in achieving LEED Platinum certification.

The development is being constructed on a square foot project site, bound by 49th Avenue, 5th Street, and 50th Avenue. The entire project is expected to cost $370 million, with work estimated to take until September 2024.
