The Spiral's Facade is Nearly Finished
Facade work is nearly complete at The Spiral in Hudson Yards. General contractor, Turner Construction is currently installing one of the last sections to the towering 1,031-foot tall office building. This consists of the highest portion of ascending windows that snake around the building to give the structure its unique, spiral aesthetic.
Developed by Tishman Speyer, The Spiral has 65-stories and contains a truly enormous amount of floorspace, totaling 2.85 million square feet. It was designed by world-renowned architectural firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), whose name is fitting, seeing that the tower's footprint encompasses an entire city block.
Turner broke ground on The Spiral back in 2018, and work has been ongoing. Construction costs are expected to top $3.7 billion by the time it completes next year.
