Tower Crane Erected for Major LIC Mixed-Use Project

Crane contractor, U.S. Crane and Rigging LLC, has shared photos of the tower crane installation they carried out this past week at 2-33 50th Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. General contractor, , and subcontractor, ECD NY, began excavation and drilling work for the mixed-use development this past summer, and with foundation work currently underway, the crane is a sign that the build could go vertical soon.

Jointly developed by The VOREA GroupL+M Development Partners, and The Domain Companies, the 12-story building, soon to be known as "Jasper Hunters Point", is set to contain rental apartments.

Tenant amenities are to include a fitness center, a swimming pool, and several roof terraces. In addition to residential space, the structure will offer  square feet of ground-floor retail, 503 square feet of community facility space, and an enclosed parking garage with enough room for vehicles. The building will also feature roof-mounted solar panels, which will help in achieving LEED Platinum certification.

Designed by S9 Architecture, Jasper Hunters Point will stand feet tall and total square feet. The development will be constructed on a square foot project site, bound by 49th Avenue, 5th Street, and 50th Avenue. The entire project is expected to cost $370 million, with work estimated to take until September 2024.
