Updated Plans Submitted for Alewife Office/Lab Project
The development team behind the office/lab project proposed along Smith Place in Cambridge has submitted updated plans to the City of Cambridge. The three-story building will offer 144,175 square feet of technical office use with a 124-vehicle parking garage below. The updates which include a courtyard to break up the building massing into 2 parts will be reviewed by the Cambridge Planning Board later this month.
The Davis Companies Submits Plans for 142K SF Office/Lab Building In Cambridge
A proposed 142,000 square foot office/lab building is now under review for 75/109 Smith Place in Cambridge just minutes from Alewife. The three-story building would also include parking for 151 cars, 115 in a below-grade garage and 36 in a surface lot. Short term parking for 10 bicycles will be located near the entry of the building with an additional 50 long bike spaces available. The project also would include enhanced landscaping and open space.
Invesco continues acquisition of properties at Alewife Station. In their latest move, they have acquired multiple properties at 40 Smith Place for $27.73 million. The property is a 3.8-acre parcel containing a 36,405-square-foot warehouse could be suitable for a multifamily development or life science conversion. The additional parcels of land included in the acquisition are 15 Wilson Rd, 55 Wilson Rd, and 75 Smith Pl which contains a 24,056 square-foot 1 story warehouse built in 1971.
