About Canal District Development

Worcester, MA

The plans call for a more than $240 million project to construct a ballpark (dubbed Polar Field), two hotels, shops and restaurant space on a vacant lot in the city's Canal District.

The 18-acre project, with the baseball park, future home of the Worcester Red Sox (expected to cost up to $90 million), includes 250 market-rate apartments, a 150-room hotel and "boutique" hotel of up to 110 rooms overlooking the ballpark, and 65,000 square feet of retail and restaurants.
