YES Based on the study with solar consultant, the space at the roof is heavily occupied with mechanical equipment and limited available spaces resulting in an energy production that is considered below the expectations for a multi-unit building. Alternative installations, like racking, were also studied but they will go against the Historic nature of the building as they result in additional roof structures as well as stressing capacity of the roof which currently lies at 4.5 psf. In addition, the current PEPCO infrastructure has limited capacity for photovoltaic input, incurring significant work for safely support the generation of renewable energy from the building. 2) Is the requested modification is in compliance with the intent and purpose of the Construction Codes? YES A commitment to purchase renewable electricity products complying with the green-energy national standard for renewable electricity products of at least 7kWh/ft2 (75 kWh/m2) of conditioned space each year until the cumulative purchase totals 70 kWh/ft2 (750 kWh/m2) of conditioned space. 3) Does the requested modification lessen health, accessibility, life and fire safety, or structural requirements? NO
