About The Reactory
Worcester, MA
The Reactory campus is a master-planned park located on ~46 acres of former Worcester State Hospital land. The Reactory allows for up to 470,000 square feet of development amongst eight shovel-ready parcels. The land is zoned for business, allowing for uses that are consistent and compatible with other uses in the area.
The Reactory is a pad-ready development with all required permits in place. As part of the development, the WBDC intends to make comprehensive public road and infrastructure improvements to create public frontage, provide comprehensive storm water management, as well as provide municipally-owned and maintained infrastructure in Spring 2020. These upgrades provide greater opportunity for pad-ready development.
In addition to the shovel-ready sites, The Reactory campus is home to a 3 ½ story historic structure, known as the Hale Building. As a historically significant asset to the campus, the WBDC is committed to reviewing potential opportunities for redevelopment and re-use, providing a unique attribute to the campus.
Currently, WuXi Biologics is constructing a two-story, 107,000 square foot manufacturing facility on the site which is expected to be operational in 2022.
Galaxy Life Sciences is also planning to build a modern, clinical, and commercial manufacturing facility on the campus. Galaxy purchased 6 acres of land on the site and has the right to acquire all remaining land within the park. On the first parcel, Galaxy will construct a flexible facility enabling biotechnology or pharmaceutical companies to conduct research, development, and manufacturing of clinical and commercial products.
