About The New Carrollton Joint Development

The New Carrollton joint development will create mixed-use development to transform New Carrollton Metro Station into a 2.3 million square foot, a mixed-use transportation hub.

Phase 1 (Complete) includes the Kaiser Permanente office building opened and The Stella multi-family building.

Phase 2 (In Progress) will include Metro’s Maryland office building which is expected to open in late 2022. 

Phase 2: (Upcoming) will include demolition of the existing county parking garage located closest to the station and replace it with a new 1,900-space parking garage and bus loop slated to open in 2023. Late 2021: Construction on another multi-family residential building adjacent to Metro’s office building will begin.

Future Phases: Future phases of the New Carrollton joint development are currently envisioned to include a mix of office buildings, residential apartment buildings and/or condominiums, and ground floor retail adjacent to New Carrollton Metro Station.
