Permit Details: Add Basement Egress Window Add a basement egress window to a newly finished basement room. I will use a contractor to perform the following: 1. Dig a hole for the window well on the outside of the basement foundation approximately 5' wide x 4' deep x 3' protruding. 2. Install a new drainage box connected to the existing foundation drain. 3. Cut a hole in the foundation large enough to accommodate the rough opening for a 35.5" W x 47.5" H hinged casement egress window and any necessary header and framing pressure treated boards. 4. Install the pressure treated header and framing boards to achieve a rough opening of 36" W x 48" H. 5. Install the 35.5" W x 47.5" H hinged casement egress window. 6. Install a window well and any needed gravel for drainage. 7. Install the window well cover. I, the homeowner, will perform the finish work inside the house around the new window.
