Throughout the 20th century in Washington, DC’s Northern Virginia suburbs,
Dr. Claude Moore applied his time and financial resources toward the preservation of land and history, and toward helping to provide and expand educational opportunities for underprivileged youth. Dr. Moore served as the first chairman of the Radiology Department at George Washington University, elevating it to exemplary status as a facility for learning and treatment.
At age 95, Dr. Moore established the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation (CMCF), which initiates programs and partnerships that increase academic competence and encourage leadership.
Dr. Moore had tremendous impact on history, land preservation and education in Northern Virginia, and today The Claude Moore Charitable Foundation continues to spread Dr. Moore’s positive influence, for the good of at-risk minorities, charitable organizations, and the betterment of the community as a whole.
