Affordable Housing Lottery Kicks Off for Bronx Point

NYC Housing Connect has started an affordable housing lottery encompassing 432 units within Phase 1 of Bronx Point; a 22-story, residential development, coming to 575 Exterior Street in the South Bronx. Eligible applicants must earn between $18,515 and $198,600 annually, or sit between 30 and 120 percent of the area median income (AMI). Applications will be accepted either online or by mail until June 30, 2023.

Developed jointly by L+M Development Partners and Type A Projects, the building will contain housing units in total, which are to be available in studio, one, two, and three-bedroom configurations. This number will eventually increase to 1,045 units after later phases of the project are completed.

Tenant amenities are to include a fitness center, a community lounge, an outdoor terrace, a children’s room, and a bike storage area.

In addition to residential units, Bronx Point will serve a variety of other functions. The building will contain 56,000 square feet of community facilities, and square feet of ground-floor retail space. It will also house the Universal Hip Hop Museum. Stepping away from the structure, 2.8 acres of the project site will be turned into a public green space, envisioned by Marvel Architects.

Designed by , Bronx Point's first phase will stand feet tall and total square feet.  is serving as the general contractor for the project and construction is set to finish towards the end of 2023.
