Construction Set to Begin for South End Lab Project
A permit valued at $142,319,900.00 has been pulled to begin construction of a 10-story life science building at 80 East Berkeley Street in the South End. Plans for an office project on the site were approved in 2013 but never realized. In January 2022 the development team proposed changes to include lab space. The new building will include roughly 300,000 square feet of state-of-the-art lab space with 200 parking spaces.
