Further Details Emerge for Phase 1 of On The Dot in Southie

Core Investments has filed additional project documents for the first buildings within the On the Dot project in South Boston. Phase 1A of the development includes 495 Dot Ave, 65 & 71 Ellery St. 65 Ellery is a planned 13-story laboratory, research & development building with ground floor retail. 71 Ellery includes a public bicycle parking facility that will accommodate 40% of the commercial building bicycle parking and excess visitor bike parking. 65 & 71 Ellery both sit on top of a below-grade parking structure.

Located near the site of the historic Washington Village Yacht Club, the design of 65 Ellery Street takes cues from the form of the Boston schooner. Per the project filing the "large, sweeping formal gestures evoke the image of sails gliding across the harbor meant to be viewed from longer distances, and a strong foredeck creates an area above the park for gathering."

495 Dorchester Avenue is a planned 16-story mixed-use tower to include 331 residential units with 10,000 square feet of retail space. The building would offer a mix of studio through 3-bedroom residences with 94 units designated affordable.
