Plans Under Review for Phase 2 of Curtis Apartments Redevelopment
With construction of Phase 1 set to begin in February, plans are now under review for Phase 2 of the redevelopment of the Curtis Apartments in Worcester. Phase 2 would include 150 mixed-income affordable rate units, including 6 new multifamily and townhouse buildings at 37 and 60 Great Brook Valley Avenue that will contain a total of 126 residential units and a 4-story mixed-use building at 67 and 69 Tacoma Street that will contain a public library on the first level, an economic opportunity center with accessory offices and community rooms on the first and second levels and 24 residential units on the third and fourth levels. The master plan for the site calls for the demolition of all 11 existing buildings at the Curtis Apartments Complex and the construction of over 500 new units across 4 phases.
