2100 L Street Update 01/23/24

Premier Litigation Firm Zuckerman Spaeder LLP Selects 2100 L Street as its New Home

Akridge and joint venture partner COPT Defense Properties (COPT Defense) (NYSE: CDP) announced today that the law firm Zuckerman Spaeder LLP has signed a 41,000‐square‐foot lease at 2100 L Street, NW (2100 L Street). Located in Washington, DC’s central business district, 2100 L Street is an award‐winning, 10‐story, 190,000‐square‐foot trophy office property. In 2020, Akridge, COPT Defense, and Argos Group developed the building in conjunction with redeveloping the adjacent, historic Thaddeus Stevens School, transforming the corner of L and 21st Streets.

"Akridge is pleased to welcome Zuckerman Spaeder to 2100 L Street," said Akridge President Matt Klein. "At a time when firms are actively seeking new, well‐located, and highly amenitized office spaces, Zuckerman Spaeder’s decision reflects their commitment to providing their employees with a space that fosters productivity and engagement."

2100 L Street was designed for the next generation of office space. The building boasts an iconic architectural veil by the internationally renowned artist Jan Hendrix, along with world‐class amenities, including Willowtop, a landscaped rooftop terrace and lounge; Oakside, a penthouse conference center; Drew Gallery, a curated art gallery featuring rotating exhibits of local Black artists; a spa‐quality fitness center; and a charming pocket park.

The building’s highly desirable location provides easy access to numerous fine dining and casual restaurants, hotels, shops, and four Metro lines (Red, Orange, Blue, and Silver).

"We look forward to making 2100 L our firm’s future DC home," said Zuckerman Spaeder Co‐Chairs Dwight Bostwick and Caroline Mehta. “Many aspects of the building are ideal for designing an office that enhances our clients’ experience, and preserves our collaborative and connected culture."

Bruce McNair, Laura Peterson, and Jenna Berk of Avison Young represented Zuckerman Spaeder. Ben Meisel, Wil Pace, and McKay Elliott of Akridge provided landlord representation for the property.
