Two Development Teams Bid Again for MCCA Site

In November 2022, the MCCA issued an RFP for the development of 6 acres of MCCA-owned property located on D & E Streets in South Boston. In April the MCCA decided to reject all proposals and issued an amended RFP. Now the same 2 development teams are still vying for the development rights.

The team led by Boston Global Investors with designs from CBT is proposing a mixed-use project to include lab/office space, a hotel, a 30,000-square-foot library, and a grocery store.

The other proposal led by Cronin Development, designed by Sasaki, calls for 1.6M SF of mixed-use space with over 3.8 acres of public realm space. This proposal includes an Arboretum, a community health center, a grocery store, and a 40,000-square-foot Black-owned film studio.
