About 171 Tremont Street
Site of an approved 13-story residential luxury condominium building featuring 12 units, each occupying an entire floor. Per the approved project plans, resident vehicle parking would be located off site; valet service would be provided. Two short-term vehicle parking spaces, as well as 12 long-term and 4 short-term bicycle storage spaces, would be located on site. 171 Tremont Street's zoning height would be 155 feet; total building height including rooftop mechanical systems would be 175 feet. The Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA) approved the 171 Tremont Street project in October 2016.
Panoramic Properties, proponent of 171 Tremont Street, sold the project site to Emerson College for $24 million in November 2017. Emerson plans to renovate the vacant five-story, 17,752-square-foot office building which stands on the property. The building will be used as office space in the short term; renovations are expected to be complete in Fall 2018. Emerson will determine 171 Tremont Street's final purpose at a later date.
