About Worcester Courthouse Redevelopment
2 Main Street, Worcester, MA
Redevelopment of Downtown Worcester's former Worcester County Courthouse, a historic building that has been vacant since 2008 and dates back to 1843, into 114 mixed-income apartment residences. The redeveloped courthouse will feature apartments ranging from studios to three-bedrooms, with amenities including a resident club room, a fitness center, gallery and workspaces for artists and programming space. Half of the residences will be offered at market rates, and half will be designated affordable.
The courthouse sits on 4.3 acres and is located in Downtown Worcester’s Lincoln Square, at the intersection of Highland and Main Streets a short distance from Worcester Union Station and other city landmarks. Construction of the redevelopment began in the summer 2019.
