Ledge removal work continues at 233 Hancock Street in Dorchester for the upcoming mixed-use project from developer ARX Urban. Haycon is managing the build of the 36 unit rental building that will also feature parking for 22 cars along with ground floor retail and a community art gallery. The site is located just a few blocks from Savin Hill and across the street from the upcoming Dot Block project which will bring more residential and retail tenants to this corner of Dorchester. Residences at 233 Hancock will include 12 studios, 12 one-bedrooms, eight two-bedrooms, and four three-bedrooms, 21 of which will be designated affordable.

Site Clear for 105 Washington Street in Somerville
Demolition of an abandoned gas station is complete at 105 Washington Street in Somerville. With the site clear, general contractor Haycon will begin construction soon on a new 7 unit residential project. The new building will feature a mix of 1, 2, and 3 bedroom homes ranging in size from around 800 square feet to 1680 for a three bedroom duplex. The project will also include a common roof deck for residents and parking for 7 cars. The Somerville site is located near Union Square and just a block from the soon-to-arrive Green Line station.

Exterior Work Nearly Complete for 1065 Tremont St. Phase II
Siding and exterior work is nearly complete for the second phase of 1065 Tremont Street at the intersection of the South End and Roxbury. The Haycon built project, is blending seamlessly with the first phase of 1065 Tremont Haycon completed in 2016. This new building will add 28 apartments to the 16 in Phase I. A wide range of unit styles will include 1 & 2 bedrooms with and without studies along with 3 bedrooms and a 4-bed duplex.

Once the site is prepped, Haycon, the project's GC will begin work on the 36 unit rental building. Haycon Installing Siding at 1065 Tremont Phase II
The Haycon team is in process of siding install for the second phase of 1065 Tremont Street. Haycon is utilizing CavityRock insulation panels on the project to increase thermal efficiency. When complete 1065 Tremont Phase II will add 28 high-end apartments to the 16 already completed in Phase I. The Tremont location is just blocks from Ruggles MBTA station and Northeastern University.

MassHousing to Provide $2.1M in Workforce Housing Financing for 233 Hancock Street
MassHousing is providing $2.1 million in affordable housing financing from the Agency’s Workforce Housing Initiative to support the development of 233 Hancock, a 36-unit housing development in Dorchester. Demolition of 2 auto repair shops on the site has already been completed and site work is now ongoing for the development. Of the 36 new apartments at 233 Hancock, 10 will be affordable for working households earning up to 80 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI), and 11 apartments will be affordable for working households earning up to 100 percent of AMI. The remaining 15 units will be rented at market rates.
The development of 233 Hancock advances the Baker-Polito Administration’s goal of creating up to 1,000 new workforce housing units affordable to middle-income households through MassHousing’s $100 million Workforce Housing Initiative.233 Hancock is being developed by ARX Urban with Dorchester based Haycon as the general contractor.

Galway Excavation has started demolition of the auto repair shop on the site to make way for the new 36,000 square foot mixed-use building.
