$2.6 Billion Mixed-Use Affordable Housing Development Planned in Miami

Developer Swerdlow Group, partnering with AJ Capital Partners, has plans to develop a large-scale mixed-use public housing project in Miami’s Little River and Little Haiti neighborhoods that would span 65 acres. The $2.6 million development would add approximately 5,000 affordable and workforce housing units. Of the residential units, roughly 3,500 would be designated for residents who earn no more than 120 percent of the county’s median income and 1,400 for very low-income residents. Part of the residential component will entail renovating and demolishing and rebuilding existing affordable housing developments. The project will also include a new Home Depot store and 700,000 square feet of parks and recreational areas. The development, which is expected to take a decade to complete, will range from two to five blocks wide from I-95 to Northeast 2nd Avenue.
