4-Story Jamaica Mixed-Use Project in Public Review
Developer, , is proposing a 4-story, mixed-use development, at 141-05 109th Avenue in Jamaica, Queens. Currently in the public review process and being evaluated by the City Council, the application submitted for proposal requests zoning map and text amendments. It would rezone eight neighboring lots, and combine six of them to form the project site.
Designed by , the resulting, square foot building would contain rental apartments, offered in studio, and one to three-bedroom configurations. Approximately 15 of these units would be dedicated to permanently affordable housing.
In addition to residential units, the ground floor would feature square feet of office space, square feet of retail space, and 5,950 square feet of community facility space, which is to consist of a pre-kindergarten facility.
The building would also have 3,660 square feet of landscaped open space for the pre-kindergarten, as well as an enclosed parking garage, with enough room for vehicles.
The project site spans square feet and is currently occupied by a pair of building material yards. Two to three structures would have to be demolished in order to make way for the new development.
