AAC&U Propose Addition/Renovations to Dupont Circle Office
The American Association of Colleges and Universities has filed plans for renovations and an addition to the property at 1816-1818 R St. NW. The two, 4- story brick and stone buildings were built in the 1910s and now require interior upgrades to comply with certain life safety and accessibility standards. Per the filing, the life safety and ADA upgrades will consume some of the building’s occupiable space; therefore, the applicant plans to bump out the back of the building to reclaim the lost space.
