Affordable Housing Lottery Kicks Off for 50 Nevins Street

As  continues to wrap up on the expansion of 50 Nevins Street in Downtown Brooklyn, a housing lottery has commenced for 50 new affordable units within the development. These are on offer via NYC Housing Connect for anyone who qualifies at 60 percent of the area median income (AMI). At this income level, qualifiers must make between $35,418 and $88,800. There are 41-studios, 7-two bedrooms, and 2-three bedrooms, available in a variety of configurations. Household size requirements do apply, and applications are due by May 20th.

Developed by , and designed by , the project has added 2-floors, and 129 affordable apartments to the existing building for a total of 10-stories and 195 units. The uniquely integrated expansion wraps around a 95-year old brick structure, creating an interesting fusion of pre-war style and modern contemporary design. The building now stands feet tall and totals square feet. Construction is expected to fully finish before the summer of this year.
