21 condos proposed at site of Savin Hill funeral home
Tavern in the Square restaurant stakeholder Giuseppe Arcari proposes to construct 21 residential condominiums in Dorchester’s Savin Hill neighborhood on the site of the existing Scally & Trayers funeral home at 54 Pleasant Street. Arcari acquired the 14,688 square foot 54 Pleasant Street site in July 2016 for $1.6 million and is proposing to construct a 34,621 square foot, four-story building, demolishing the existing funeral home. Plans for the proposed building are in the early stages and have not yet been filed with the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA). The funeral home will continue to operate at 54 Pleasant Street until June 2017.
