Site Working Ongoing for Worcester Multifamily Project
“Dueling Crews” from Helical Drilling are installing Geopier® GeoConcrete® Column (GCC) Rigid Inclusion ground improvement through 50+ feet of soft soils, including about 15-50 feet of organic soils in Worcester. The GCCs will support a 7-story residential structure right across the street from Polar Park in Worcester, home of our favorite minor-league ball club (go Sox)! The structure includes column loads of 500(+) kips and wall loads of 40(+) klf. The maximum allowable bearing pressure for footing design is 8,000 psf with settlement tolerances of 1” (total) and ½” (differential).
