Demolition Has Begun on the Ardent Mills Flour Mill in Downtown Tampa
Tampa Mayor Jane Castor operated the heavy construction equipment to kick off the demolition of the old Ardent Mills flour mill. The site will be utilized to connect the Channel District, and the expanding Water Street Development, with Tampa’s neighborhoods. Developers will be able to connect roads that were blocked by the site, add greenspace and new buildings. The mill, built in 1938, has been vacant and will be demolished. The property was purchased in 2018 with plans to redevelop the site. Developers expect the demolition process to take a few months.
