High Line Moynihan Connector Update 09/27/21

Design Unveiled for New High Line Extension

Architectural firms, Skidmore Owings and Merrill, and James Corner Field Operations have just unveiled a design for the new High Line Moynihan Connector in Hudson Yards.

The connector will consist of two 600 foot long bridge sections, spanning from the existing elevated infrastructure at High Line Park, down 30th Street, and up a block on Dyer Street to Manhattan West. From Manhattan West, pedestrians can walk directly across the street to Moynihan Train Hall.

The connector will effectively streamline the journey between the Moynihan Train Hall and the High Line by reducing the number of streets one must cross, and offering a more enjoyable way to get there.

The section on 30th Street will closely resemble the rest of the High Line, with large plantings, and flowerbeds. The section ending at Manhattan West will have a more urban design, with a distinct wooden truss-style bridge. If all goes according to plan, the project should be completed by the spring of 2023.
