Donohoe Celebrates Construction Topping Out of Marriott AC/Residence Inn Reston Town Center
Donohoe Development is thrilled to announce the construction topping out of the highly anticipated Marriott AC/Residence Inn in Reston, Virginia. This milestone marks a significant step towards completing this exceptional dual-branded hotel and retail project.
The topping-out ceremony, a long-standing tradition in the construction industry, signifies the placement of the final structural element of the building. This milestone impressively comes six months after project financing and construction started in January 2023. The event, hosted by Donohoe Construction and attended by its subcontractors, celebrated the tremendous progress made on the project and highlighted the collaborative efforts of all those involved.

The Marriott AC/Residence Inn, situated in the heart of Reston Town Center, promises to be a world-class addition to the community, offering the first-of-its-kind dual-branded hotel project in the region. Once completed, the hotels will feature 267 guest rooms and suites thoughtfully designed by Cooper Carry and Design Continuum, Inc., each meticulously appointed with modern amenities and stylish furnishings. The hotel, to be managed by Donohoe Hospitality, will provide guests with an exceptional stay experience, combining contemporary elegance with renowned Marriott hospitality. The project also includes many upscale amenities, such as a fitness center, an indoor pool, a ballroom, meeting space, a full-service restaurant, and a signature rooftop lounge and bar, ensuring that guests have everything they need for a comfortable and memorable stay.
The hotels form part of BXP’s expanded Reston Town Center mixed-use development. The project will incorporate 34,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, adding to the vibrancy and convenience of the area. The hotel’s strategic location within the expansive Reston Town Center, near Fortune 500 companies, retail, and restaurants, and at the entrance to the new Reston Town Center Metro station positions it as an ideal destination for business and leisure travelers visiting Reston and the greater DC area.
The Marriott AC/Residence Inn Reston Town Center is expected to open in late 2024. As one of the first new hotels to open in this submarket in 15 years, it is poised to become a sought-after destination for travelers seeking the perfect combination of modern luxury, comfort, and convenience.
