Excavation In Progress for LIU's 30-Story Tower in Fort Greene

General contractor, Construction, is currently overseeing excavation and early foundation work at 89 DeKalb Avenue; the site of a 30-story, mixed-use tower, set to rise in Brooklyn's Fort Greene neighborhood.

Developed by for Long Island University and being constructed on the grounds of the school's Brooklyn campus, the building will contain apartment units. Included in this figure will be 98 units dedicated to affordable housing.

Tenant amenities will total over 15,000 square feet and are to include a fitness center, an outdoor terrace, and co-working areas.

In addition to the residential portion, plans call for 55,000 square feet of academic and office space for the university, which will serve to expand the campus and help the institution increase its overall capacity.

The cutting-edge tower has been sustainably designed and will be all-electric. It will also feature a smart glass facade system and electric vehicle charging stations.

Designed by , 89 DeKalb Avenue will stand feet tall and total square feet. Construction is expected to finish by December of 2025.
