Wildflower Studios Update 05/25/23

Facade Work Progresses at Wildflower Studios

Steel erector, NYC Constructors LLC, has shared new photos of the construction progress at Wildflower Studios; a 7-story movie production facility going up at 35-15 19th Avenue in Astoria, Queens. General contractor, , has now installed a vast majority of the windows and exterior cladding materials, and as a result, the building is really starting to resemble its final form.

Developed by , the 7-story, 775,000 square-foot studio aims to revolutionize Astoria's movie production industry. Its design was created by the world-renowned architectural firm, , in partnership with Hollywood elites, Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal.

Set to become the first vertical film studio in the world, the facility will have 11 sound stages, with extra tall floors, and a multi-story entrance that can accommodate large trucks for production operations. Plans also call for a 310-vehicle parking lot for employees, and 34,620 square feet of public outdoor space, along the banks of the neighboring, Luyster Creek.

Although the facility's 12,000-ton superstructure has stood completely assembled for a few months now, NYC Constructors remains on-site, putting together smaller, non-structural building components, such as catwalks, and stairwells.

Moving forwards, if all goes to plan and construction proceeds without delays, Wildflower Studios is expected to open its doors sometime in late 2023.
