Facade Work Underway for 14-Story Chelsea Mixed-Use Project

General contractor, , has shared new photos of a 14-story, mixed-use project, rising at 278 Eighth Avenue in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood. The photos depict the building's ongoing facade work, which has progressed very far along, with a majority of the windows and brick cladding now installed. 

Developed by , and JJ Operating, it will contain rental apartments. Tenant amenities are to include a roof terrace, a fitness center, a bar and lounge, and a bicycle storage room.

The building will also have square feet of commercial space; most of which will come in the form of a new Target location on the ground floor.

Approximately $183 million in financing is being provided for the project by Square Mile Capital Management, and Pacific Western Bank. Designed by FXCollaborative, the structure stands feet tall and totals square feet. Construction is estimated to finish by May of 2024.
