Financial District Office Tower Scooped Up for $180M

A 30-story office tower, located at 55 Broad Street in Manhattan's Financial District has just been sold for $180 million. It was purchased by Silverstein Properties from the previous owner, Rudin Management, in a deal brokered by Eastdil Secured.

Originally constructed in 1967, the tower contains leasable square feet of office space as well as square feet of retail on the ground floor.

Designed by Emery Roth & Sons, the building stands feet tall and totals square feet. The most recent capital improvement was carried out by Fogarty Finger Architects, who fully renovated the lobby in 2019.

Closing with a fun fact, 55 Broad Street is notable for becoming the first fully wired office building in New York City's history, back in 1995. This improved tenant connectivity and made it one of the most technologically advanced commercial buildings in the country at the time.
