Hells Kitchen Development Site Sells for $25M
A 4-story church building at 539 West 54th Street in Manhattan's Hells Kitchen neighborhood has just been sold for $25 million. The structure was purchased by Excel Development Group from an unknown seller in a deal brokered by JLL. Built in 1910, the building once contained the roman catholic affiliated, Church of St. Ambrose, and totals 30,210 square feet. Excel bought the property as a development site, which means the building is likely to be demolished. At 12,552 square feet, the lot offers a total buildable square footage of 75,566 square feet; which is over twice the size of the existing structure. As of yet, specific plans for redevelopment have not been announced.
