Hilco Submits Preliminary Plans for 2.15M SF Redevelopment of Potomac River Generating Station
Hilco has submitted a Development Concept Plan to the City of Alexandria detailing plans for a 6 building, 2.15M square foot mixed-use project at the Potomac River Generating Station site. The development would extend the streets of Old Towner North into the site to connect the property to the larger neighborhood while also planning to make use of the unique character of the property and maximize views of the river. Per the filing, the mix of uses would include 390,000 square feet of commercial space, 115,000 square feet of retail, around 2,000 residential units, and a 300 key hotel. The project would also include 4.2 acres of open space including 2 waterfront parks and several linear parks.
