MarineMax Yacht Hub at St. Petersburg-Clearwater Airport Approved
The Pinellas County Commission unanimously approved the MarineMax proposal to construct a yacht hub on St. Petersburg-Clearwater Airport land. The Clearwater-based yacht retailer will sign a 50-year lease on the 9.5-acre parcel of land at 60 cents an acre, approximately $248,987 per year. MarineMax plans are to build a 132,000 square foot manufacturing facility, a 400-space parking garage, a travel lift well for hauling and launching yachts, and a docking facility. The proposed $38-million-dollar facility will create 300 jobs. The site is located just west of the airport, 900 feet east of the Bayside Bridge and north of Roosevelt Boulevard
