Michael Cahill Joins Core Investments, Inc. as Vice President

Industry Veteran in Boston to Focus on Development Including ‘On the Dot’

Michael Cahill, with 18 years of real estate design, development and construction management experience, has joined the Boston real estate development and investment company Core Investments, Inc. as Vice President of Development.

Cahill’s specialties include ground-up mixed-use development life sciences and office design, large multifamily development, and laboratory design and planning.

Cahill’s hiring, along with a number of recent promotions and other additions to the Core Investments staff, reflect the growing presence of Core’s property, management, and development role in the Boston area.

“Our leadership team sees Michael as an ideal fit as our new Vice President of Development,” said John Cissel, Core Investments’ President of Development. “As a leader on the team, he will assist the company as we continue to grow and impact the neighborhoods we serve and develop.”

Previously, Cahill was senior project manager at Rockhill Management of Boston.

Cahill also was cofounder and management partner of Sports Performance Investment Group of Boston, which developed and managed three fitness locations.

Earlier, Cahill was development manager at the real estate development firm Samuels & Associates, involved in planning and development in the Fenway neighborhood. Cahill was also project manager and capital advisor for the Harvard Real Estate unit of Harvard University. He was project superintendent at Modern Continental Construction Companies.

Cahill has a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Bentley University, a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Fitchburg State University, and a Certificate in Commercial Real Estate Analysis and Finance from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He has volunteered as a project manager at Habitat for Humanity International. He is an avid CrossFitter and also enjoys camping, hiking and international travel.

Cahill and the growing team will contribute to the company’s growth and the ongoing and future development of the emerging On the Dot© neighborhood around Dorchester Avenue and other significant Core properties in South Boston and elsewhere in Greater Boston.

Properties include On the Dot, a 20-plus acre assemblage of former industrial land, the future site for commercial and residential development, along Dorchester Avenue in South Boston between Andrew Square and Broadway Station on the MBTA’s Red Line.

On the Dot has unparalleled location and transportation advantages to serve Boston’s rapidly growing life sciences sector and meet existing demand for lab space. It is between Andrew Square Station and Broadway Station on the MBTA’s Red Line and near both I-93 and I-90 highways.

Core Investments led the transformative development of Washington Village, a million-square-foot mixed-use project on five acres in South Boston. With partner Samuels & Associates, that project has begun construction.

Core Investments, Inc. and Core Real Properties LLC were founded by David Pogorelc, who is Chief Executive Officer and has been active in Boston real estate for 30 years.
