Midtown Office Building Trades for $105M

A 20-story office building, located at 529 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan's Midtown East neighborhood, has just traded hands for $105 million. The structure was purchased by Empire Capital Holdings from the previous owner, Silverstein Properties, in a deal brokered by Cushman & Wakefield.

Originally constructed in 1958, the building was designed by Emery Roth & Sons. It was later renovated in 2016, which resulted in elevator upgrades and a redesigned lobby, envisioned by MdeAS Architects.

In addition to office space, the structure offers square feet of retail space, spanning the ground floor, cellar, and mezzanine level. It also features a worker amenity area, known as "The Willow", which boasts a lounge, a private event space, a yoga room, and an outdoor terrace.

Altogether, 529 Fifth Avenue totals square feet. Silverstein Properties is offloading the building after over 16 years of ownership, having initially purchased the building for $105 million in December of 2006.
