New in the Neighborhood: West Roxbury
Update
10/17/19
Tree line streets and single-family homes mark West Roxbury as Boston's "suburban" neighborhood. Multi-family development here is much less frequent than other areas of the city. Currently there are only 81 apartment or condo units under construction in multi-family projects. There are however some larger projects on the horizon with over 400 units currently approved. The largest project upcoming would be The Parkway Apartments, two-buildings set to include 258 apartments along the VFW Parkway near the Dedham line.
Let's check out the couple of residential projects under construction now and one recent completion.
Willets Landing along Washington Street will include 46 apartments, a mix of one and two-bedroom units. Residents will have access to a common roof terrace along with garage parking. Construction is expected to be complete this winter.
Under construction now, 45 Spring Street was originally planned as a 13 unit project however 5 more units were just approved and permitted for the project. The majority of the units at 45 Spring St. will be 3 bedroom homes, featuring over 1500 square feet of living space. Most units will also feature a balcony or roof deck. The first units within the building are expected to welcome residents this winter.
Completed last month, 1789 Centre Street features 16 luxury 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom homes. Duplex or flat layouts each offer ample living space along with master suites and in-unit laundry. Garage parking is available on site for 29 cars and residents will also have access to a common roof deck.
