Permits Filed for 430 Unit Building in Coney Island

Building permits have just been filed for a 12-story, mixed-use development, at 1709 Surf Avenue in Brooklyn's Coney Island neighborhood.

Developed by , the building is set to contain affordable housing units and square feet of commercial space. This will likely come in the form of ground-floor retail. Plans also call for 9,065 square feet of community facility space, and an open parking area, with enough room for vehicles.

Designed by , the structure will stand feet tall and total square feet altogether. The property mostly consists of a parking lot at the moment and no demolition will be required. The project is expected to break ground before the end of the year.
