Plans Submitted for Mixed-Use Development with Affordable Housing in Orlando

Plans have been submitted to Orange County for a new mixed-use development near the Meadow Woods SunRail Station in Orlando that would offer affordable housing along with retail and medical office space. The plans call for 1,764 multifamily units, all of which will be affordable housing, 15,000 square feet of retail space and 15,000 square feet of medical office space. The development is planned on a 189-acre site owned by El Shaddai Christian Church. In addition to the housing and retail space the church will build a 10,000-square foot bible college and 10,000-square foot high school for the existing TKCA Academy. Adjacent to the high school, 500 apartments will be designated for affordable senior residents and student housing. In addition, four residences for church staff will be located behind the church, above another 200 senior apartments. The site, across the street from the SunRail station, is the now-closed Meadow Woods golf course and is surrounded by the Meadow Woods master-planned community.
