Sirata Beach Resort Planning Major Expansion and Renovation

 

 

Columbia Sussex Corporation, a Kentucky-based hospitality company that is the owner of the Sirata Beach Resort, has announced an expansion and renovation development. According to the plans, two new hotels will be constructed on the property. A 10-story, 290-key luxury hotel will be constructed on the north side. The existing building that contains 98 rooms will be demolished to make way for the new hotel. On the south side, which is a surface parking lot, a select service, 130-key hotel will rise eight stories. In addition, the existing hotel will undergo renovations that include the elimination of 57 rooms and renovation of the remaining rooms, replacing and upgrading the pool and the relocation of the Compass Grille restaurant. Situated directly on the Gulf of Mexico, the iconic Sirata Beach resort offers 382 guest rooms along with a host of amenities. The resort features a private beach, beachfront pools, beachfront volleyball courts, beach and pool cabanas, as well as 30,000 square feet of event space. The resort includes three restaurants, Rum Runners, Compass Grille and Harry’s Beach Bar, the oldest beach bar in St. Petersburg.
