Tampa Heights Development Granted Preliminary Approval
The plans for a new development in Tampa Heights received preliminary approval from the City of Tampa. The developers will now have the project reviewed at a hearing March 16, 2023. Loci Capital, a local developer, is under contract to purchase the land from A Brighter Community Inc., the oldest preschool in Tampa, and has submitted a rezoning application with the City of Tampa. Under the terms of the purchase agreement, the preschool will be relocated, a portion of the proceeds from the sale will go towards the relocation costs. The new development would include 490 apartment units and 15,000 square feet of ground level retail and office space along Florida Avenue. Tampa Heights Tower will have two seven-story buildings connected by a skybridge. The purchase is expected to close in February 2023.
