Terminal Logistics Center Nears Completion

General contractor, , is nearing the finish line for a large air cargo hub project at 130 South Conduit Avenue in Queen's South Ozone Park. The "Terminal Logistics Center", as it's known, now has its entire facade installed, and priorities have since shifted towards finishing the interior spaces.

The 5-story structure is being developed by  to help serve the cargo logistics demands of major nearby airport, JFK International. JFK is the 9th busiest US airport in terms of cargo traffic and it handles roughly 3.4 million pounds of freight each year.

Designed by , Terminal Logistics Center occupies a 130,000 square foot lot, and totals square feet. It boasts 300,000 square feet of Class-A warehousing and storage area, spanning 3-floors, a 20,000 square foot truck court, and square feet of operational offices.

The facility will have 28 loading docks, capable of handling full-size tractor-trailers, as well as a couple of drive-in doors for smaller trucks. It will have 26-foot interior ceiling clearances and a 50-foot column grid for easy maneuvering. The building is also unique for being the first multi-level warehouse on the East Coast. As such, it has a vehicle ramp that wraps around the building in order to allow trucks to unload at docks located on the 2nd floor.

Terminal Logistics Center's location provides direct and efficient access to the Van Wyk Expressway, JFK's passenger terminals, and most importantly, the airport's air cargo facilities. Although running a bit behind schedule due to covid-related slowdowns over the past couple of years, this new hub is expected to open sometime before the end of the year.
