Watermark Development acquires 0.69 acres in Roxbury for $4 million, allowing approved office development to proceed


Watermark Development has acquired a 0.69-acre property in Roxbury for $4 million, allowing the developer to proceed with construction of the approved 139,200-square-foot 1785 Columbus Avenue office building. Two single-story commercial buildings stand on the property, located at 0 Dimcock Avenue and 1837 Columbus Avenue; both buildings will be demolished. Watermark received approval from the City of Boston’s Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) in May to construct 1785 Columbus Avenue. The building will be built on a total of 0.91 acres, 0.22 of which were owned by Watermark prior to the development’s approval. 1785 Columbus Avenue will feature office space for Horizons for Homeless Children and other social service programs, in addition to ground-floor retail. Construction of 1785 Columbus Avenue is anticipated to commence in the 4th quarter of 2017, with completion expected in the 2nd quarter of 2019.
