Zoning Progress for East New York Affordable Development
Developer, , is seeking zoning map and text amendments for a cluster of lots in Brooklyn's East New York neighborhood. The proposal aims to facilitate a new affordable housing development at 749 Van Sinderen Avenue. Designed by , the building would contain residential units and total approximately square feet.
At the time of our last update, the submitted application had already been reviewed by the Community Board and was in the process of being reviewed by the Borough President. Since then, both the Borough President and the City Planning Commission (CPC) have finished their reviews, and the City Council is now in possession. If approved by the City Council, the application will be sent to the NYC Mayor's Office, who will have the ultimate say, and can either issue a final stamp of approval or veto the project altogether.
