Zoning Update for 749 Van Sinderen Avenue
A new affordable housing development, proposed for 749 Van Sinderen Avenue in Brooklyn's East New York neighborhood is now being reviewed by the NYC Mayor's Office. Since February of last year, developer, , has been seeking zoning map and text amendments for a cluster of lots that would establish the project site. Designed by , the building would contain residential units and total approximately square feet.
Up until this point, the project has been reviewed by Brooklyn Community Board 5, the Borough President, the City Planning Commission (CPC), and the City Council. The Mayor's Office will now have just five days to either veto the proposed development or issue the final stamp of approval. We'll have to wait until early next week to see what happens, but given the project's popularity with every regulating body so far, it'll likely be approved without question.
