About Saugus Middle/High School

Upcoming new building to house the combined Middle & High School serving grades 6-12 located on the existing 22-acre High School site. The new building will be 269,070 square feet with central shared-used spaces and academic pods that create small learning communities. Site design focuses on three primary elements: The building, parking, and the stadium with the multi-purpose field, track, and a 1,250-seat grandstand.
The site will have 300 parking spaces for school and visitor use and 110 additional parallel spaces along the roadways for larger on-site functions. The school parking is divided at either end of the new facility for easy access into either school. A number of visitor and HCP spaces will be provided adjacent to the Main Entrance.
Construction will be divided into three phases. The first phase would include early site preparation and temporary parking. The second phase is the construction of the new MS/HS. The District would move from the existing MS and HS buildings into the new combined school during the summer of 2020. Phase 3 will consist of abatement and demolition of the old HS and the new construction of the adjacent stadium and parking facilities. The stadium construction is expected to be complete by July of 2021.
