About New Pond Village Walpole Ground Floor Renovation

$3.1 million renovation by South Coast Improvement Company of the ground floor of Benchmark Senior Living's recently acquired 167-apartment New Pond Village Walpole senior living residence. Phase 1 of the renovation, now complete, entailed upgrades to the main dining room, including adding a waiter station and installing new Merlot cabinets, Corian countertops, upholstered seating, carpeting, paint, fixtures, tiles, heating units and electrical systems. Additionally, pre-existing walls were demolished in order to create a more open floor plan. Phase 1A, also complete, entailed renovations to the community’s formal dining room.

Phases 2 through 5 of the renovation will be constructed simultaneously, and will consist of reconfiguration and remodeling of ground floors spaces including New Pond Village Walpole’s country store, bank, physical therapy room, hair salon and auditorium, as well as the addition of both a new bar area and massage room. Additionally, a section of the dining room that was kept open throughout Phases 1 and 1A to ensure that residents would have space to eat will be remodeled and upgraded to match the newly finished dining area.

Phases 2 through 5 will also install all-new finishes through the ground floor, from lighting dimmer switches to tiles, carpeting, paint, HVAC systems and windows. Additionally, new structural walls will be installed to support the renovation, and bathrooms and underground utilities will be upgraded. Full completion of the renovations is expected in Summer 2018.
